The cable no longer needs to be routed through the firewall which could be complicated for some vehicles. The cable now routes through the floorboard of your tow vehicle for a much cleaner and simpler install for any tow vehicle. Highly Recommended add-on product: Our Ready Stop breakaway protection– This will stop the toad in a breakaway event and is needed to tow legally in many States and Canada.
Vehicle note: For the Ford C-Max hybrid Energi you must pull fuse #9 to disconnect the vacuum pump. In testing, this fixes this car's problem and makes it towable with the Ready Brake.
A supplemental tow brake and breakaway device is required by law in most States and Provinces when towing a vehicle 4 wheels down.
This Ready Brake will work with any tow bar with a 2-inch receiver.

This thing is great. I researched tow bars and supplemental brake systems before deciding on this due to the mechanical brake, ease of setup and cost. Immediately upon install we towed a Jeep Patriot from Colorado to Alaska and back with a Class C and system worked great. Couldn't be happier.
