I had mine coming on ten years and as you described simple, effective, & safe yet cost effective. No external power, vacuum or air pressure required for normal operation. Just connect the cable from the bar to the toad and your brake ready to head out. And don't for get to buy a break away kit.

We purchased an NSA Brute Ready Brake Tow Bar System in late 2018 to flat tow our 1999 Jeep TJ, The kit came with everything we needed to connect and flat tow our Jeep. It features emergency break-a-way stoping system, braking, quick connect lights, safety cables. The kit was very easy to install. We're based in Florida we've used this system to tow safely all over the United States, over twenty-five thousand miles with no issues. Because we're planning a few long trips we decided to have the Tow Bar check out just to be on the safe side. I boxed it up and shipped it back to NSA for inspection. They inspected it and repaired as needed and shipped it back for free. Very good service, plus NSA is a USA company with products made in the USA. Hats off to the crew at NSA for a great product and awesome service. Coach Cottle

Great tow and brake system in one. Super easy to hook up and take down. My installer said one of the best he has seen in years of working on these type towing/brake devices.

Purchased my 1st Ready Brute from NSA in 2006. We pulled a Saturn Vue and later a Ford Edge. I just replaced with a new "Elite" a couple months ago. There was nothing wrong with the old equipment, it performed flawlessly from day 1. I find the brake system to be less invasive than some of the other forms of aux brake. Also very easy to set up a new vehicle to tow. Yes I would recommend.

Very easy to use and hooks up better than most. It is worth every cent. It is the best tow bar for the money since for only a couple hundred more than the Blue Ox. ... Most tow bars require a separate braking system to the tune of $1K+ but this one has a cable based system that works just fine and meets the standards of the states that require a braking system. This tow bar is heavy duty, precision machined and well made! The integrated surge brake system enables the towed-vehicle (the "toad") brakes to be activated via a mechanical cable within a cable sleeve easily routed and installed through the toad's firewall and attached to the brake pedal. This provides simple, robust, secure, and proportional braking for the towed vehicle.

Great price for a tow bar and brake combined.
