Clevis for NSA tow bars
All NSA tow bars can hook up to various baseplates if you have the appropriate clevis on the tow bar. The clevises are the ends of the tow bar that attach to the baseplate on the tow vehicle.
Our tow bars can sometimes attach directly to the d-rings on some aftermarket numbers. If you have a tow-strength aftermarket bumper that you want to pull from you'll need to contact us for approval and fill out this measurement sheet.
We recommend calling us and we can help ensure you are getting the proper fit.
HOW TO SELECT THE RIGHT CLEVIS:
Look at the pictures below and select the tow bar ends and clevis style that fits your setup.
From 2000 to 2017 all tow bars sold were aluminum and the end of their legs were 1.900 in diameter. Fig. #A
In 2018 we introduced steel tow bars and their legs are 1.180 in diameter. Fig. #B
In 2019 we introduced a new aluminum tow bar and their legs were 1.180 in diameter. Fig. #C
In 2020 we redesigned our aluminum tow bar legs and to this day they are 1.600 in diameter. Fig. #D
Unless you are an NSA tow bar expert please call in if you need a new set of clevis!!
We aim to ship your order as quickly as possible, during the busiest times of the season, tow bar manufacturing lead times can be 3 weeks. If an item is not going to ship quickly, we will be in contact via phone or email. Please reach out if you have any questions on lead times.

All I can add is same experience as all the others have said. It’s a great simple system that works great.

Product quality is excellent, and apparent immediately upon opening the box. Also, I chose to work directly with the company, and they were great. I had a unique situation where I couldn't use the company mount on my Jeep (due to having a plow mount already), so I provided dimensions for my Jeep's D-rings (see attached picture) and the company made a custom fit mount. If I recall correctly, I don't think there was even an extra cost for customizing the mount. I didn't really have any problems, but I know the company would have been super supportive if I had needed anything. The connection system is very well designed, and easy to align. My sixteen year old son typically does the connection both ways 100% himself. After it is connected, there is a connection for the lighting, one to activate the brakes, and one as a safety that will lock the tow vehicle's brake if it someone got loose. Last year was the first towing our Jeep Unlimited. We towed from CT to the rockies, spent two months cruising around the Rocky Mountains, and then towed back from UT to CT again. We've been doing these trips for five years now, but this is the first time we towed a vehicle -- it was a massive improvement for the trip. I definitely recommend based on quality, connection design, and company support.

The Hercules tow bar system work great couldn’t be happier. It’s easy to use and the surge brake works really well. I installed it myself with no problems.

This is by far the best tow bar on the market, bar none. Direct connection to the brake pedal provides the best braking of the tow bars. No crap in the floor or electrical components to worry about. I have comfort in knowing that the vehicle that I am towing is actually braking...where do I buy shares in this invention!!!

I've had my ReadyBrute since 2007 and towed my Jeep Cherokee about 50K miles with it. I really like it. I live in Colorado and constantly traverse steep grades. It has always worked flawlessly. It brakes just the right amount...never to much and never too little. I've actually towed the Jeep more miles than I have driven it over that time!
