Most tow bars require a separate braking system to the tune of $1K+ but this one has a cable based system that works just fine and meets the standards of the states that require a braking system. This tow bar is heavy duty, precision machined and well made! The integrated surge brake system enables the towed-vehicle (the "toad") brakes to be activated via a mechanical cable within a cable sleeve easily routed and installed through the toad's firewall and attached to the brake pedal. This provides simple, robust, secure, and proportional braking for the towed vehicle.

This towbar is awesome. It was easy to set up. I used it to tow my 94 Jeep Wrangler over 3,000 miles behind a class A RV. It was completely problem free and easy to use the whole way. I love the simple brake cable that relies on simple physics to make the tow vehicle brakes engage when the RV brakes engage. It worked great through steep mountain passes!

We purchased an NSA Brute Ready Brake Tow Bar System in late 2018 to flat tow our 1999 Jeep TJ, The kit came with everything we needed to connect and flat tow our Jeep. It features emergency break-a-way stoping system, braking, quick connect lights, safety cables. The kit was very easy to install. We're based in Florida we've used this system to tow safely all over the United States, over twenty-five thousand miles with no issues. Because we're planning a few long trips we decided to have the Tow Bar check out just to be on the safe side. I boxed it up and shipped it back to NSA for inspection. They inspected it and repaired as needed and shipped it back for free. Very good service, plus NSA is a USA company with products made in the USA.
